Our pain medicine service treats chronic pain as a clinical condition in its own right, not a symptom to mask. We aim for targeted relief, not long-term opioid prescriptions, using a stepped approach from physiotherapy and lifestyle through to image-guided procedures. Cases are discussed in a pain MDT alongside neurology, neurosurgery and rehabilitation, with clear goals set at the first visit.
